Among the Aztecs, coyotes were a symbol of astuteness, worldly-wisdom, pragmatism, male beauty and youthfulness. Because of his very old age, he was revered for his wisdom and philosophical insights. He is often associated with indulgence, male sexuality, good luck and story-telling.
